Therapy FAQ
-
Yes - it’s very common to feel hesitant or vulnerable when beginning therapy, especially virtual therapy. You might worry about opening up or showing emotions in front of someone new. That takes courage!
My role as a licensed therapist is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel heard and supported. We’ll go at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
-
Sessions last 45–55 minutes. We’ll typically meet once a week, but we can adjust the schedule if needed.
-
I’m not in-network with insurance providers, but I offer out-of-network billing. You’ll receive a detailed superbill to submit to your PPO for possible reimbursement. I recommend asking your insurance company directly about your virtual therapy benefits and coverage.
-
Our first session is focused on exploring what brings you to therapy. We’ll discuss your background, past therapy experiences, and current concerns - be it anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship stress.
You can also ask me questions! You might want to know about my approach or what future sessions will look like. Most importantly, you’ll get a sense of whether I’m the right fit for you.
-
Yes - confidentiality is at the heart of therapy. Everything you share stays private, except in a few cases where I’m legally required to act, such as:
• Suspected child, elder, or dependent adult abuse
• Serious threats of harm to others
• Plans to harm yourself without accepting help -
If your values and goals align with my approach as described on my site, let’s connect. Book a free 20-minute phone consultation to ask questions about virtual sessions, cultural responsiveness, or therapy goals. Think of the first few sessions as “trying out the fit” - what matters most is that you feel safe, comfortable, and supported.
-
I accept all major debit and credit cards. For online therapy scheduling, a card is required to confirm your appointment. Payment is due at the time of each session unless other arrangements are made in advance.
-
Please provide at least 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations (under 24 hours) will incur a $100 fee. This helps me maintain availability and respect your time as well as others’.
